Yep, I know, I have been totally MIA accept for random shares on my Facebook page. I have been taking care of a great deal of personal life stuff. But I am back, and refocused on myself. I have been getting more consistency in the […]
I am getting that nervous excitement you get when you know something awesome is about to happen but uncertainty still lies deep. As I mentioned in the previous post, I will be chronicling a health reset as I begin to focus on the quality of the food I eat and get back into moving more than from the couch and reaching for the remote.
I am a planner, and therefore if I don’t plan, I don’t move. So I put together a plan for how I will share the progress and information. If you think you need to make a change, let’s change together, and if you don’t think you are ready, well, in the famous words of the great philosopher Bruno Mars “Don’t believe me, just watch”.
Here is the plan:
- Friday – Finalize and share recipes and grocery list
- Saturday – Cook
- Sunday – Weigh in, photo progress, and work out plan for the week
- Monday- Cardio
- Tuesday – HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training)
- Wednesday – Cardio
- Thursday – HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training)
- Friday – HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training)
- Saturday – Cardio
- Sunday – Rest
My commitment to myself is to remain focused, but not beat myself up or give up when a workout is missed or a poor food choice is made. The next post will begin this new journey.
And so it begins….
Day 3 of the 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse by JJ Smith viagra is over and I have to say, the sildenafilviagra-rxstore.com word I think of is clarity. One of the things I really like about this http://viagra-bestrxonline.com/ jump start is that it provides an energy […]
I already got my goto gumbo recipe, so I decided I need a basic goto jambalaya recipe. Guess what… score! This can be prepared by anyone. If you are just looking for a one pot dish that will feed about a dozen people, this is it. I found this recipe on an awesome blog called Gimme Some Oven. I plan to explore the site much more after this winner.
Dice 1 large onion
Dice one of each yellow, green and red bell pepper
Dice 2 ribs of celery
Mince 4 cloves of garlic
Add all of the prepared vegetables to a pot heated with a tablespoon of olive oil, and once they are cooked thru nicely add cut up boneless skinless chicken breats and a pound of andouille sausage with a bay leaf.
Once the vegetables and chicken are cooked, add 3 cups of chicken broth, 14oz of crushed tomatoes and a 1 1/2 cups of brown rice. This is also the step that you begin to add the seasoning, like 2 tablespoons of creole seasonings, 2 teaspoons of dried thyme
This dish will only get better with time. When all of the broth is absorbed, this dish will be a treat for a casual dinner party, tailgate, or even a potluck.
I took the liberty of lightening up this recipe with the use of brown rice and chicken andouille sausage, and I used 1 1/2 pounds of shrimp instead of the 1 pound to stretch it a bit, and besides who doesn’t like shrimp.
I love a meal that doesn’t require a great deal of preparation, but rather a simple and clean presentation and lots of flavor, like this blackened salmon recipe. Food never has to be complicated especially if it is something you are preparing during your busy […]
